Goose Hunting Blinds

A goose hunting blind is a piece of equipment that is one of the most important things that you can have. You have to be well concealed and use camouflage materials. If there is a lot of brush in the field that you are in, you may not need an actual blind, you may be able to use the bush to conceal you. If the bus is not 6-8 feet tall, it is probably not enough to conceal you, so you should use a blind for the best results.

Portable blinds are the best. They are less trouble than building permanent blinds, and they are also a lot cheaper. However, you can build your own portable blind easily. It can be very light and easy to carry.

You can find suggestions and plans online for the building of your blind but you can just use a few bars (1/2-3/4 inch) some thin wall electrical conduit (EMT) that is stiff and light. You can paint it camo, yellow, or green, because it usually comes in a shiny grey color. You will just need to cut the bars to the length you need but not less than 8 feet (they usually come in 10 feet), fasten the bars together with the EMT with rubber bands or elastic tape. Then cover the frame with some camo material that blends well with the nature. You can also tie some bush and such to it to make it look more natural.

If you are not inclined to make your own, that is fine. There are many different kinds out there for you to buy. Online resources are great. There is almost unlimited information and products out there, and they are often a lot cheaper than going and buying your equipment at a hunting or specialty store.
